Our History

Burkell Plumbing, Inc. is a third-generation family business founded in 1945. Owner & President of Burkell Plumbing, Jake Newman, has been with the company for over 35 years. He is committed to continuing the long-standing tradition of providing the best quality service to Burkell Plumbing’s valued customers.

​In addition to maintaining a family tradition of craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing the job right, Burkell Plumbing is highly qualified in all aspects of the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning (HVAC) business. As certified plumbers, we do both residential and commercial work in plumbing, heating & air conditioning, air filtration, radiant heating, tankless water heaters, and solar hot water. We take care of all plumbing and heating service phases, repair, remodeling, and high-end construction work. In addition, we have two Certified Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers. We are proud to be a Certified Green Plumber and have been Diamond Certified since 2003. We are up-to-date on all the new energy-efficient plumbing and heating options available.

Burkell Plumbing gives a one-year guarantee on service (restrictions apply) and stands behind all products installed. Our plumbers receive training on an ongoing basis through the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Association (PHCC) of the Redwood Empire of California.

Most of our technicians have been with the company for over 20 years. They continue to pass on their knowledge and commitment to superior work to the next generation of plumbing and heating technicians.

As the owner of Burkell Plumbing, Jake Newman believes in the importance of the company’s participation in community events and the support of the programs offered by the Marin County local schools and school foundations.
